I have changed the order payment method to XXX. Why is the client unable to complete the payment?

The extension allows changing the payment method for an order, but it doesn't guarantee that this payment method will work correctly after the change.

If the payment method doesn't support the ability to be selected outside of the checkout, then it is better to exclude it from the list of methods that customer can change to.

Types of payment methods that most likely will not work after changing the order's payment method (or it will need some work):

  • if the method redirects the client to a 3rd party service
  • if the method requires filling additional information during the checkout
  • if the method isn't available when the order is created in the admin panel
